Pangtography, a professional photography studio in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, photographed the Halltown African-American Free School at no cost to the restoration before the restoration project began. The stabilization phase has been completed and included the repair/restoration of roof trusses and framework, stabilization of brick on the Free School interior rear wall, repair of the foundation with the addition of safe access point under the Free School, and fabrication of a replacement rear door. A grant has been awarded to the Halltown Memorial Chapel Association from the National Park Service, Department of the Interior, that will fund additional restoration work to the concrete and brick masonry and the interior wood flooring system.
